US Embassy Donates Smartdec to Albania November 24, 2014

In November, 2014, the United States Embassy in Tirana, Albania supported the Albanian Government by donating Defendec’s situational awareness platform Smartdec for border protection. Project is a follow up on the contract signed in 2011 for the installation of the system in the Albanian state borders.

The donation was made possible under the Export Control and Related Border Security Assistance (EXBS) program, which is led and funded by the U.S. Department of State. EXBS is a worldwide program that aims to support countries to improve their export control systems, to prevent illegal shipments and smuggling, and to counter weapons proliferation threats.

“This purchase demonstrates the strength of the relationship between the two parties and Defendec is pleased and honored to continue to contribute to the national security of this nation,” states Jaanus Tamm, Defendec CEO.

Defendec is an innovative, high-tech company specializing in the development of world-class remote surveillance technology for remote areas in border security, critical infrastructure and military sectors worldwide.
