In November project was awarded for Defendec to implement Smartdec system in Nordic country.
At the end of October, the EU external border country awarded a project to Defendec to deploy Smartdec in the EU eastern land border.
At the end of September, the U.S. government approved a project to deploy Smartdec in the Middle-East country for protect borders. Defendec is one of the subcontractors to implement the project.
In August, the U.S. government approved a project to deploy Smartdec in the Eastern Europe country for border security. Defendec is one of the subcontractors to implement the project.

Organized by Frontex, European Day for Border Guards (ED4BG) is an event traditionally attended by Defendec. ED4BG is an annual event taking place during the second half of May. We have participated in the past five annual events.

We are pleased to let you know that Defendec Ltd will participate in International Defense Exhibition and Conference IDEX 2015 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

In November, 2014, the United States Embassy in Tirana, Albania supported the Albanian Government by donating Defendec’s situational awareness platform Smartdec for border protection. Project is a follow up on the contract signed in 2011 for the installation of the system in the Albanian state borders.

Defendec is exhibiting at telecommunications and information technology exhibition BakuTel 2014, in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event will be taking place from 2-5 December 2014 at Baku Expo Center. 

In October, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan accompanied by his spouse Emine Erdoğan and several government ministers visited Estonia. The head of states and ministers discussed the global security situation and the Estonian–Turkish bilateral relations and cooperation.

At the end of September, the U.S. government approved a multi million USD project to deploy Smartdec in the Central-Asia country border area. Defendec is one of the subcontractors to implement the project.

Defendec has rolled out a new highly cost-effective service-based solution for the Smartdec electronic border guard system – Smartdec-as-a-Service. 

Defendec welcomes a new partner - Envision.  Envision is a service-based security solutions provider that focuses on the construction industry sector in Ireland and the United Kingdom.  

Defendec exhibited at Eurosatory 2014, the Land and Air-Land Defense and Security Exhibition held in Paris from June 16–20.  Defendec release​d​ ​its newest Smartdec high​-capability camera module for situational awareness platform ​at the exhibition.

Defendec participated in European Day for Border Guards (ED4BG) which was held May 22 in Warsaw. ED4BG is an annual event, organised by Frontex, which brings together members of national border authorities.

Defendec delivered Smartdec at the end of March to the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan.  

Bogdan Gogulan, Defendec Vice President of Business Development for MENA and Central Asia, Tanel Laan, Defendec Deployment Manager, and Major Kalev Sarapu, Head of the Analysis Department of the Estonian Police and Border Guard Service, trained the Kyrgyz border guards for three days. Sarapu has been PBGB (Estonian Police and Border Guard Board) representative in cooperation with Defendec since its beginning to help develop the Smartdec system.  He shared his expertise and best practices with the local guards. 

December 2013, Defendec Vide President of Business Development Bogdan Gogulan signed a contract with the Tajikistan Free Economic Zone  for the installation of a Smartdec system.  

The free trade zone falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and is located near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border. 

December 9-13, Defendec CEO Jaanus Tamm participated in a business delegation that accompanied Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip to Kyrgyzstan.  

Defendec has released Smartdec 3.0 bringing significant improvements to its electronic border guard system for users in the field. 
New Partner to Cover Africa November 19, 2013

Defendec signed a new partner in November that will focus on market opportunities in Africa especially the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Africa.  

International robotics competition Robotex 2013 will take place at TUT Sports Hall, Tallinn from 16 to 17 November. Event is organized by Tallinn University of Technology in cooperation with the University of Tartu and the Estonian Information Technology College. The event takes place for the 13th time. 
October 3-5, Defendec CEO Jaanus Tamm and Vice President of Business Development Vlad Nepochatov participated in a business delegation that accompanied Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves to the countries of Romania and Moldova.  
Estonia's reputation as a leader in the development of e-government solutions has attracted the attention of countries around the globe.  This summer Defendec had an opportunity to meet with visiting delegations from the Republic of Namibia led by the Honorable Mrs. Pendukeni Iivula-Ithana, Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration, and separately with a delegation from Japan led by the Honorable Mr. Takuya Hirai, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee.

Estonia became 41st space nation after Estonia's first satellite ESTCube-1 was rocketed off to orbit the Earth on  May 7th 2013 at 05:06! Defendec's team is very proud to contribute in the project - our Embedded Software Engineer Andres Vahter has developed the communication module for the satellite.
In May 7-10, Defendec will participate in the International Defence Industry Fair IDEF'13 held in Istanbul, Turkey.

Defendec made their annual Christmas donation this year to Tartu University Hospital Children's Fund to help kids with severe and profound disability.
Defendec signed Teguh Hiasan ICT Sdn. Bhd. to be the sole distributor of Smartdec in Malaysia. 

SmartCap, an investment company, part of the Estonian Development Fund invests together with co-investor Firepower Ventures OÜ in the Estonian technology company Defendec OÜ, with up to 1.2 million euros in international potential. 

In the period 20 – 24 August 2012 Defendec’s Smartdec system was fielded successfully in the joint exercise together as a part of Kestrel Technology Group. Over 200 people (military and civilian personnel) participated.

LanTroVision Ltd., has signed a mutual agreement with  Defendec Ltd. to sell and support the Perimeter Intrusion Detection System, SMARTDEC in Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, and Myanmar.

 Estonian Defence Forces and Defendec Ltd. signed an agreement to co-develop and test innovative defense technologies and devices.

On December 1, 2011, the United States Embassy in Tirana, Albania supported the Albanian Government by donating Defendec’s innovative monitoring systems for border protection. The donation was made possible under the Export Control and Related Border Security Assistance (EXBS) program, which is led and funded by the U.S. Department of State. EXBS is a worldwide program that aims to support countries to improve their export control systems, to prevent illegal shipments and smuggling, and to counter weapons proliferation threats.  

On November 2, 2011 the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board awarded the badge of merit to Defendec Ltd. for creating virtual border guards and for helping to protect the nation’s borders. 

Defendec Ltd. is proud to announce it is now certified as ISO 9001:2008 compliant, this for the The manufacturing, deployment, and development of wireless sensor network. The certification is accredited by leading certification center Bureau Veritas.
During the period of March 28-th until November 30-th 2011, European Social Fund has been co-financing the council project of quality management systems to develop and improve company's profile. The project has been supported by Estonian Enterprise.

On September 1-st of this year, the Estonian high-tech enterprise Defendec, and the enterprise promoting the SmartGrid concept on the US market PowerCon Energy Systems, entered into a development and licensing contract, as a result of which the North American enterprise can take into use technology that enables the monitoring of the electricity consumption of private customers and, therefore, reasonably regulate the production and consumption volumes.

Grant for Innovation October 30, 2009
Enterprise Estonia decided to award us with a grant. The grant is for two years research project - research and development of new ultra low power networking algorithms with intelligent application message platform.
