Defendec at Frontex Day in Immola, Finland September 23, 2011

Immola, Finland, September 23, 2011 – The European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union (FRONTEX) organized an event for member states on 21-23 September in Finland.

During this event, Defendec showcased its Smartdec system. Smartdec is a wireless perimeter intrusion detection system that is designed for use in remote border areas. Defendec’s Sales Director Taavi Hiltunen gave a presentation to the audience followed by a live demonstration of Smartdec.  Interested participants were given a chance to agree on a free trial of the Smartdec system.

“This was an exceptional opportunity for all registered participants to agree for free trials in their homeland,” said Sales Director Hiltunen. The audience consisted mainly of European border guard officials, military and police officials, as well as defense sector representatives from private companies all over Europe.                                                                    “Visitors were mostly surprised about how small and cost-effective this solution is, and how long the system can operate autonomously,” he added. Hiltunen was demonstrating the wireless monitoring system that works as a force multiplier helping to save lives and to save energy.

Defendec is an innovative technology company that develops surveillance systems for border security and critical infrastructure protection in remote areas worldwide.
